In both texts that you read, the line between reality and imagination blurs—the narrator sees a woman in the wallpaper, while Dickinson’s speaker feels their own funeral happening in their mind. Have you ever had an experience where stress, fear, or emotions made something feel distorted or unreal? How did you ground yourself in reality again?
I have always suffered with high anxiety since middle school, going back in fourth through the years with my mental health. My junior year was really, really bad and the only thing that really helped me get over it was going on medication for anxiety, depression and panic attacks. The panic attack medicine was the biggest help because I was suffering through them multiple times a week. I really liked the poems we have been reading and that you can have your own thoughts about what they mean to you.
Today in class we read a poem by Emily dickensin and then started answering questions on the yellow wall paper.
