I`m sorry this is late!

1. I would address the gun laws and encourage more laws to ensure safety while respecting people's rights. I would do this to lower the threat of school shootings and the overall threat they hold.

2. Combat climate change by supporting clean energy and programs to protect the environment. We have already seen some of the effects of climate change and should work on reversing it.

3. Invest more money into education especially in public schools to ensure opportunities for students with a lower income or location. 

4. I would try to make housing more affordable to reduce the homeless population and help families have stable living conditions.

5. I would strengthen natural disaster response and advance technology, (basically just put more funding), to help save the lives of the people and rebuild quicker. 

On January 9th in class, we did a Newsela on former president Jimmy Carter who unfortunately passed away on December 29th. The Newsela talked about how he got to be president, what he did during the presidency, and what he did as a former president.  Some viewed him as a weaker president and a better ex-president because of how much he contributed after his term.

I sent this to you the Newsela on email for some reason Newsela was not showing it in assignments and I wanted to make sure you got it.

Story Map

 Today in class we finished our Story maps to be presented tomorrow. I think the maps are a creative way to explain to the class and give a visual presentation of questions related to the story "Two Kinds" and it gave us a creative way to relate to the story. I'm sorry i did not come back to class after I went to the nurse it was like 3:13 and by the time I got there the bell would have rung so I didnt see the point im sorry. In both texts that you read, the line between reality and imagination blurs—the narrator sees a woman in the wallpaper, while Dickinson’s speaker feels their own funeral happening in their mind. Have you ever had an experience where stress, fear, or emotions made something feel distorted or unreal? How did you ground yourself in reality again?

 I have always suffered with high anxiety since middle school, going back in fourth through the years with my mental health. My junior year was really, really bad and the only thing that really helped me get over it was going on medication for anxiety, depression and panic attacks. The panic attack medicine was the biggest help because I was suffering through them multiple times a week.  I really liked the poems we have been reading and that you can have your own thoughts about what they mean to you. Today in  class we read a poem by Emily dickensin and then started answering questions on the yellow wall paper.

Discuss how mastering precise vocabulary can impact your daily communication and academic success.

 More precise vocabulary can help you express your thoughts clearly and reduce misunderstanding. I also think including bigger words that some people might not understand makes you sound smarter. It would definitely be useful in arguments when trying to make a point or discredit someone else`s point. Knowing you're using the correct word can not only make you sound smarter but feel smarter and the more you learn the more you can start including into your vocabulary. In school work you can use the words on other class assignments for different classes and impress teachers. The same things with jobs and making yourself seem more educational with using less average words. Today in class we did lesson 14 vocabulary writing down sentences for all 15 vocab words having to do with them, them using the words we just learned to do exercises 3 and 4.
