 Today in class we took notes and watched a trailer preview for the book we will be doing. It deals with heavier topics so we had to submit a parent consent form. We answered six questions while talking through it and then turned it in.

Prompt: Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?

 During last semester I was taking a hiatus from doing my school work like I should and it ended up making me have a lower GPA in the end. I had just started taking a higher dose of the anxiety medication I was taking and it made me feel lazy and not anxious so not having work done did not stress me out as much as I used to. It taught me the importance of time management and that I possibly have ADHD so it was helpful in a way. Write about an object that holds sentimental value and why it’s important to you.

 An object that holds importance to me is the jewelry box I got when I was around 9 years old. I was going through her storage room while having a sleepover at her house. When I found it I brought it to her and asked if I could keep it and when she said yes I filled it with candy from her house. I now use it for rings and bracelets and it sits on my vanity away from anything that could break it. Today in class we read two chapters of the color purple, letters 36 and 37, we then did a worksheet. The worksheet went over the relationships between the characters, their tension or conflict, and a quote that showed the tension/ conflict in those two letters. It helped me get a deeper understanding of the character's relationships and why there is conflict and tension between them.

Describe your personal approach to creativity. What steps do you follow when you’re working on a project. Tell me about a project you created that you were most proud of.

 I usually start with brainstorming and thinking of the basic idea that I want to do, sometimes when I have trouble I will use my resources and look on Pinterest or Google for inspiration. Never take it directly but create my own thing. I was really proud of this cake I made in the seventh grade of a cell, I liked baking cakes in general and I went all out and spent a lot of money on candy and other things to do the most. I spent probably 4 hours on it.  Today in class we worked on brainstorming, making thought bubbles, and ensuring you answer a writing prompt completely. We then answered a prompt relating to the color purple and chose a character to make the though bubbles about. I chose Sofia.
