"I`m Nobody" Presentations.

Today in class we presented our 'I`m Nobody" presentations, every group had a different theme for the PowerPoint which our groups worked on Wednesday. My theme was "Voice and Tone Specialist". I did the first slide and helped with the group collaboration slide. Through other groups and my group, I learned more about the meaning of Emily Dickinson's poem. The being of individuality and self-identity. She expressed that it is better to be a "nobody" than a "somebody", meaning it is better to be yourself and unknown than be fake to yourself and be somebody you are not. I really enjoyed the theme of this poem and agree with it. I am very bad at presentations and speaking in front of groups so I did not enjoy presenting.

 I usually start with brainstorming and thinking of the basic idea that I want to do, sometimes when I have trouble I will use my resources and look on Pinterest or Google for inspiration. Never take it directly but create my own thing. I was really proud of this cake I made in the seventh grade of a cell, I liked baking cakes in general and I went all out and spent a lot of money on candy and other things to do the most. I spent probably 4 hours on it.  Today in class we worked on brainstorming, making thought bubbles, and ensuring you answer a writing prompt completely. Imagine writing a letter to yourself 10 years from now. What advice, hopes, or reminders would you include?

If I had to write a letter to myself 10 years from now I would tell myself to remember to care less about what people think because life is too short for that.  I currently think too much about what people think but I think once I leave high school that will get better in the future I see no reason for me to care so much, but just in case I forgot I would remind myself. Today in class we had a sub and read pages 66-77 in the color purple and answered 5 discussion questions. Explaining the key plot points revealed within their family relationships, why there is a dramatic structure in one of the letters, what people's actions reveal about their character, how their behavior confirms things we already know about them, and how quotes reveal things about their character.

Prompt: Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?

 During last semester I was taking a hiatus from doing my school work like I should and it ended up making me have a lower GPA in the end. I had just started taking a higher dose of the anxiety medication I was taking and it made me feel lazy and not anxious so not having work done did not stress me out as much as I used to. It taught me the importance of time management and that I possibly have ADHD so it was helpful in a way.
