"I, Too" by Langston Hughes

Today we read the Poem "I, Too" by Langston Hughes and answered 6 writing response questions, reviewing each one with the class to compare different answers and hearing different views on the poem. I learned about how poems can mean different things to different people based on how they interpret the poem. Exploring the themes of segregation, what America represents and who it represents, and the mixing pot of cultures we have in the United States. I enjoyed the lesson and how we did it as a class instead of on our own. I feel with poems it is important to do this because they could have so many meanings. I also like it when we discuss it as a class because I am an auditory and visual learner and understand it more when we discuss it as a class.
