How important is it for you to retain your cultural foods as you move forward in life?h Explain the importance and which foods you cannot live without.

I am a very very picky eater if you cut carbs out of my diet, i`m not sure what I would eat. A lot of food from my culture I will not eat I only like 4 vegetables and 3 fruits, I do not like ANY sauces. A lot of the time when my family makes food for the adults and kids, I am always eating the kid's food. I have always been like this since I was a baby and everyone tells me I wil grow out of it but I do not think that is true. Pasta, bread, and chicken are my food groups and really the only meals I like and texture is a huge problem for me when trying new foods. So I really only eat a couple foods. Today in class we created online posters with 15 foods from our culture that we eat during different special ocausions, even though I do not eat a lot of the food I out on the poster but they are still apart of my culture.

How would you feel if your privacy was invaded online or on your phone? Do you think privacy is a basic civil liberty?

I think that secretly the government definitely does track all of our phones and we all have trackers and you cannot convince me otherwise. If you do illegal things I feel like they can look through your phone so I am good because I do not commit crimes because I do not see a reason for them too. Now if anybody else especially someone I know did that or had access I would be very cautious and kind of mad. I would not like my phone invaded, it one time got hacked and it was one of the worst days of my life and I had to redownload everything. Today in class we read a poem with the themes of freedom and liberaty, then discussed the liberatys we have as american citizens and what limitations they have. We listed 3 of the ones we found the most important and I really like my freedom of speech.

Describe what you did over the winter break (use at least 5 words from Vocabulary Lesson 10 in your paragraph)

During the winter break, my boyfriend and I went to Colorado with his family. Our trip started with a hike in the Rocky Mountains, where there were really pretty landscapes. Despite the imminent cold front, we wanted to make the most of our trip. My boyfriend’s imperious attitude sometimes felt like an impediment to our fun, but he has enthusiasm for skiing. One day, while exploring the village of Breckenridge, we went to an old chapel, which some locals seemed to like a certain idolatry. In the evenings, we would gather around the fireplace, and his dad told impious jokes that were actually funny some of the time. The whole thing was unforgettable and really fun and left me with an appreciation of snow.  Today in class we got a piece of paper with 14 squares and had to come up with a comic book strip including our 15 lesson 10 vocab words to be completed by the end of class.

Describe your idea of a perfect day spent with someone you care about.

A perfect day would probably be when I am already out of town because the best way I can detach is by being away from home. I always feel more relaxed and able to focus on other things than what stresses me out when I am out of Atlanta.  At a body of water specifically a lake because I big fear of the ocean, but still with all the shops around the ocean, like the town around the ocean. My mom, dad, brothers, boyfriend, dogs, and cats would have to be there and all of them to get over their fear of the water (my dogs and cats) and we all swim together without drowning, getting hurt, or getting in trouble. Today in class we finished are one pagers

Write about a time when you faced a challenge, an obstacle, or a moment where you had to push yourself beyond what you thought was possible.

A challenge I face constantly is procrastination, I am very very bad at it. I also tell myself that as long as I`m fine right now I`ll be okay and then I end up in trouble later because I put it off. This definitely happens the most with things I`m worrying about I will always put it off if I can. I am trying to work on it but sometimes when I'm doing somthing I don`t want to do it is so dificult to do it and I really have to push myself. With writing assignemts and presentations I am the worst at I just don`t even do it until the last day.  Today in class we started a one pager about the poem "still I rise" poem and I also got the rubric and set up to complete out essay due on the 28th. The one pager included many different items including coloring it.

Write about a time when you had to rely on your mother (or any other prominent female in your life) during your time of need.

I depend on my mom daily, I love my mom she is one of my best friends. I have become pretty independent with physical tasks like laundry and cooking but she is there emotionally always. I have always struggled in some way mentally and she has ALWAYS tried her best to help and be there. I relied on her a lot towards the end of my junior year.   I was going through a hard time with friends and it really started affecting my school life and confidence, she helped me manage it and make school easier by getting me a 504. I rely on her most of the time I need someone to talk to, we have a deal that as long as I am honest I most of the time will not get in trouble. Today in class we went over the culture of African Americans and then read a poem. The poem talks about a girl coming home after suffering a failure, She creeps into her house afraid her mother is not going to forgive her, but a mother's love is unconditional. They will always love you in a stable household. We then ...

What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

I learned how to have my own opinion and not to always just follow what everyone else around me does. I used to not trust myself at all and would always go with what someone else wanted instead of what I wanted or thought I should do because I always assumed I was wrong. When always thinking you wrong your always looking at other people for what you should be doing or always comparing yourself. I have learned that everyone is different and just because something works better for one person does not mean it will work better for all. People have their own tastes and preferences.  Today in class we completed a NEWSELA about the Bill of Rights and debated if we should update it or not. I understood both sides to the argument, it is a very important piece of history that should be honored, but with times changing I think it is okay to update it. Some of the things written are out of date now or do not matter to anyone, we could make it more influence
