Write about something you’ve always been curious about.

Something I have always been curious about is the solar system. Specifically how big it is how much it expands, and the fact that some people believe with how big it is there is not other inteligant life. I find it scary when thinking about space that the world could end at any minute. An astroid could hit, the sun could hit us, anything could happen and we wouldn't know. I just find it very scary.

November 6th

On November 6th in class, we did a NewsEla titled " How to give your worn-out sneakers a second life" It was about the amount of waste shoes create. We were asked to answer questions, annotate, write a free response, and take a quiz. The main idea of the artical was the recycling of shoes and the damage they cause to the environment.

November 5th

Today in class the groups our desks were at were divided into the different groups represented in the Poem. My group was the " poor white man" and worked on a collage that expressed the challenges our characters faced and their overall perspective. We had to select key lines from our characters and find imagery to help symbolize them.

November 4th

This day in class was the day before the election and we ended up taking a mock trial in class. The majority of the class voted for Kamala with the percentage at 86 percent Then keeping with the America theme we read a poem called "Let America Be America Again" discussing the themes we saw in the poem. The poem discussed the "american dream"

Write about a place you never wanted to leave. November 8th

A place I never want to leave is my grandparent's lake house. It is on Lake Burton and they have owned it since before I was born. We go up multiple times a summer and now obviously know the lake very well. I am now old enough to do the more mature things on the lake and being up there really is just relaxing. I have a huge fear of sharks so swimming in the ocean has always been stressful for me even though I enjoy it. The lake is freshwater so I am not stressed when swimming in it.

Describe when you had a moment of unexpected kindness. November 13th

A time I had an unexpected act of kindness was when I was in a fast food drive-through and the person in front of me decided to pay for my meal. When I came up to the window they told me it was a chain and that everyone had paid for the person behind them. They asked if I would like to continue it, I said yes until I found out the person behind me`s total was 54 dollars...

Write about something that you wish you had more of. November 15th

Something I wish I had more of is pets. My dog recently passed away and ended up getting a puppy. After getting a puppy we realized it is actually easier to have 2 puppies for them to distract each other. Now we have a very dependent puppy who needs attention constantly and terrorizes the cat. Another puppy would keep it distracted and they would give each other attention.

Describe a time when you felt completely lost. November 11th

I felt completely lost when I was taking my final math exam in my sophomore year. I had studied but I only reviewed some of the units stupidly. I had reviewed our last unit but not the ones before. I ended up getting a really bad grade on the final I came after class and basically begged my teacher to give me another chance.

Write about your most special holiday memory

A holiday memory that is very special for me was decorating with my Nana for Thanksgiving. I was the second oldest cousin and only girl so I would go to her house about an hour before everyone else and set the table. She always made the adult table very nice and it took a while.

Write about the best gift you have received.

The best gift I ever received was 3 years ago on Christmas. I had been asking for a cat for years but it was always a no because we had two dogs, but 3 days before Christmas they surprised me with a little black and white kitten. They told me it was a girl so I named it Gracie, we then found out later it was a boy but kept the name, Gracie.

Write about a song that brings back a specific memory.

A song that brings back a certain memory is "Hey There Delilah" because that was the song my parents told me I was born to.  Whenever it plays it reminds me of my family. All of the children in my family were born to a song. They used to play it on my birthday when I was younger.

Write about something that you believed as a child.

Even though my family never really celebrated religion, we participated in the Christian holidays. As a kid I believed in my elf and how it was magic, moving every night. My dad was very creative about where he would put the elf. There was a rule of if you touched the elf it would not move that next night, and obviously that he would report your bad behavior to Santa

Describe a time you couldn’t stop laughing.

A time I could not stop laughing was when I was saw watching a comedy movie with my boyfriend and a joke happened that neither one of us got until later that day at the same time, we both found it hilarious then and could not stop laughing

Write about a fear you have overcome

Throughout my childhood and into my early teenage years I had a very big fear of needles. My parents would have to hold me down from the ages 4-12, and then after that it normally was a panic attack or crying. I recently have gotten over it as a 17-year-old.  Although I still to this day will not do the finger prick.

November 4th 2024

Something I cannot stop thinking about is food. I love food and honestly, it's sometimes the best part of my day and sometimes the most exciting. I do not eat breakfast in the morning so when I get to 5th period in school it is on my mind until lunch. Then after lunch, I always want something sweet. Then getting home its normally one of the first things I do.

November 3rd 2024

A time I had to find strength when I felt weak was every school year, I often do not want to go to school, not for any particular reason I just don`t really like it. I had years were I messed up and would not do well in classes just because of the work and the test taking.

November 2nd 2024

A conversation I remember changing me was learning about my grandfather/Cedo learning about our family heritage from Palestine for the first time when writing an essay about him. He had a lot of struggles growing up and it taught me I should be VERY grateful for my life, especially the little things you don`t realize mean so much.
