During the winter break, my boyfriend and I went to Colorado with his family. Our trip started with a hike in the Rocky Mountains, where there were really pretty landscapes. Despite the imminent cold front, we wanted to make the most of our trip. My boyfriend’s imperious attitude sometimes felt like an impediment to our fun, but he has enthusiasm for skiing. One day, while exploring the village of Breckenridge, we went to an old chapel, which some locals seemed to like a certain idolatry. In the evenings, we would gather around the fireplace, and his dad told impious jokes that were actually funny some of the time. The whole thing was unforgettable and really fun and left me with an appreciation of snow. Today in class we got a piece of paper with 14 squares and had to come up with a comic book strip including our 15 lesson 10 vocab words to be completed by the end of class.
My family is atheist, so we do not really go all out for holidays except for birthdays. My favorite holiday would be my birthday, and others, that sounds very selfish, but not just mine, others' too, especially my mom`s, because I get to be in charge of it. I also get to make a cake for every birthday, a lot more when I was younger, for everyone, including extended family, but now I just do it for family because of time reasons. For easter we had a brunch and an egg hunt, and then I went with my boyfreinds family to church, they are catholic, and then we had lunch.
A place I feel the most at peace is always at my grandparent's lakehouse during the summertime. We have been going every year with all of my family since I was a kid, we plan out one week where everyone including family from other states come into town and all stay in the house. It is really peaceful and beatiful up in the mountains and we always have dinner cooking competitions so there is always good food. I get to see family I have not seen in a while and relax. We have a boat up there so we are also able to do water sports and activities on the lake, me and my brothers really enjoy tubing. Today for our virtual assignment we read letters 56-60 in the color purple and answered 7 disscusion questions in Canvas. The chapters reflected on the racism Nettie sees in New York and in the African countries, plus her relationship with Samuel. It also discusses Celies new found individualism with her new found skill of making pants and how she now feels in control of her own life.
